We’d done all the right things: torn out the carpet and replaced with hard wood, upgraded the kitchen and bath, etc. But it was a competitive market and we were anxious to move to Florida. When Dagmar met the eventual buyers at an open house she bubbled over about it’s highlights and the surrounding open space trails, which the folks hadn’t learned from their agent. It was tough but you did it. And at a price I could live with! M___ designed this upper-end home himself and was sincerely proud of it, though he was no architect and had seriously “eclectic” tastes and strange design ideas. And it was seriously dated as he’d lived there with his wife for decades. Now, as a widower, he was emotionally distraught at the prospect of selling, even though he’d had the property on the market for over a year and truly needed to sell. Dagmar represented an investor/buyer group considering a major remodel as a spec home but was, of course, cost conscious. The seller’s agent was not communicating well with her client. Dagmar built a rapport the seller that allowed old man to air his personal issues and eventually eased his mind about the sale that he really needed but was resisting. Several late night phone calls went over his history and concerns again and again. Loving Dagmar for her sincerity and genuine interest, he finally came around and agreed to a price. Dagmar had created sincere personal relationships with the reluctant melancholy seller, the seller’s agent and, of course, the investor/buyer group.

The two bed room rental home looked worn out: dated everything, repairs needed, tired, abused. And we were reluctant to improve anything. ‘Good money after bad’, we thought. We’d had it with the place and its past renters. Dagmar was able to convince us of the need to address the problem issues and put a bit of a fresh look on it.
